Job Purpose: The Training Coordinator role is crucial to the success of the People Team as it helps to turn strategic plans into action and is the first port of call on development matters for all employees from front line staff to senior management. The role requires a balance between independent working and decision-making, whilst adhering to the targets of the People Plan and maintaining sufficient consultation to ensure the needs of all stakeholders are met. 


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate training offering and administration: organise training, maintain records, manage training budget
  • Evolve development offering: work closely with our consultant and partners to evolve development offering in line with the priorities of the People Plan
  • Support new starters: manage corporate inductions and respond to new starter survey feedback
  • Support for graduates: improve the current provision of central support to complement local management
  • Represent the People Team on steering groups for areas identified as a priority in the People Plan (such as inclusion & diversity, wellbeing and flexible working) and act to support commitments that are made
  • People communication: collate collateral, organise meetings and market offerings internally, including creation of brochures, newsletters and supporting staff conference

Technical Competencies: 

  • Able to effectively assess individual and team training needs
  • Able to know and procure good quality training that meets the needs of the audience
  • Able to measure and provide feedback on effectiveness of training
  • Able to coordinate training and maintain records in a range of formats both paper and electronic for multiple uses
  • Able to use office tools (such as Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint , Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint) to maintain professional records and communication
  • Background working independently in a small training team
  • Experience building positive relationships with senior stakeholder
  • Able to work collaboratively with an internal network of stakeholders at all levels of the business to achieve the best outcome for goals of the People Plan
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and know when to speak up with concerns
  • Ability to keep stakeholders informed on progress and potential issues to increase understanding, sponsorship and trust
  • Proactive in finding opportunities to add value to the goals of People Plan
  • Able to work in an agile way to effectively prioritise workload according to changing needs of the business and to deliver desired outcomes in support of team goals at short notice
  • A desire to support others in having the best possible working lives and opportunities
