Ground Rent Assistant Manager

Job Purposed: To assist in managing the team of ground rent co-ordinators who collect and record ground rent income on behalf of Berkeley Group.  

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  • Day to day management of the team's billing and collection activities
  • Liaising with managing agents and other parties on collection matters
  • Managing the monthly duty rota
  • Managing the lease extensions process
  • Dealing with escalated Leaseholder queries
  • Managing the Exceptions Report
  • Assisting in compiling the information required for the consent to legal action by the managing agents
  • Carrying out bank reconciliations and taking charge of the banking
  • Assisting in preparing a monthly board pack and other ad hoc reports
  • Assisting in processing the Landlord Statements and associated reports at month end
  • Assisting with other month end duties
  • Assisting in managing the mail out of demands, reminder letters etc
  • Accounting for unallocated receipts
  • Correcting accounts via journals
  • Assisting with any future ground rent sales

Technical Competencies:

  • Confident telephone manner
  • Good level of IT skills particularly in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Experience with accounting reports with knowledge from qualifications or experience
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Management experience

  • Driven with common sense and the ability to work effectively
  • Possesses a positive attitude
