Application Reference Number: 0150 Function: Head Office Location: Chelsea Bridge Wharf Position Type: Permanent Application End Date: 20/11/2020 Job Purpose: To lead the development and implementation of key CSR inititaives within Berkeley St Edward (BSE) over a 14-month period, with specific focus on Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellbeing and Mental Health.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Diversity and Inclusion
Work closely with existing Steering Group members to drive the D&I agenda at BSE, including the development of new actions and priority focus areas based on feedback received
Take responsibility for the organisation of Steering Group meetings and drive key actions to completion
Support the D&I calendar group in development of events
Actively engage with the D&I champions on our sites to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibility to drive the D&I agenda in their local office(s)
Be point of contact for all D&I-related queries (i.e. for the Steering Group, Champions, Working Groups and any other colleagues or stakeholders)
Assist the Head of People & Development in monitoring D&I data from staff engagement surveys and developing new actions from that data
Assist the Head of People & Development to deliver against recruitment and progression focused D&I objectives
Health and Wellbeing / Mental Health
Deliver a series of H&W actions across BSE for 2021, including scoping out new initatives that will have a positive impact on the H&W of BSE employees
Deliver against our Mental Health Strategy and work to achieve more openness/ transparency around mental health while also promoting positive mental health within our workplace
Ensure regular communications are issued around H&W and Mental Health, including information on any new initiatives, as well as reminders about our existing offering
Promote Mental Health Awareness Week across BSE (May 2021)
Develop and implement a physical challenge for staff in 2021 (i.e. step challenge or other)
Develop one further event in the year focusing on another aspect of H&W
Use staff engagement data (for H&W and Mental Health) to steer communications or new initiatives
Engage with Britain's Healthiest Workplace and organise our participation in the survey for 2021
Assist the Head of People & Development to monitor site usage of our key services through BUPA feedback
Engage with our partner Mental Health charity and link staff to their support and resources
Monitor the impact of Mental Health training and work with L&D to develop further training modules as required
Manage our Headspace account and be a lead contact for Headspace
Engage with H&S to ensure mental health support is covered in our construction site inductions.
General
Work with our Operations Directors to develop our approach to Modern Slavery
Technical Competencies:
Experience in a similar role, with demonstrated experience in developing and delivering successful CSR initiatives
Strong ability to effectively lead campaigns and motivate others to advocate, and/or participate in, their successful delivery
Self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently and deliver against a work plan
Ability to solve problems in a logical manner, and generally remain solutions-focussed even in the face of perceived adversity
Demonstrated experience fostering and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to use raw information/data to produce reports, and effectively present information both verbally and through written documents
Strong ability to be responsive to stakeholders and beneficiaries both during work hours and (occasionally) outside them
Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision
Enthusiastic about working in an organised, structured, efficient manner
Advanced skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel (including demonstrable knowledge and understanding of intermediate to advanced Excel formulas (e.g. IF, COUNTIFS, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
