Application Reference Number: 0140 Function: Modular Location: Northfleet Position Type: Permanent Application End Date: 20/11/2020 Job Purpose: The purpose of the role is to take full day to day leadership responsibility for a 'Manufacturing Zone' within the factory environment, ensuring the team is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards. The initial work will cover developing knowledge and deep understanding of our product and process technologies. This learning will culminate with the development of extensive materials to be used for setting up and delivering training programmes to the production teams in the new systems of work to support, maintain and improve the production capability including Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Autonomous Maintenance Plans and procedures. Once the factory is established, the focus will switch to ensure day-to-day that the complete system is able to deliver to the required output levels, which will mean the facility and associated advanced manufacturing practices and technologies are measured and constantly improved to ensure the product exceeds expectations. As such, Team Leaders will be responsible for delivering our product against exacting standards, effectiveness will measured against quality, productivity and cost targets, whilst ensuring a safe working environment for the workforce. It will be essential to work very closely with other stakeholders from across the business covering the technical, engineering, projects and site logistics disciplines to understand challenges that are faced and help develop and evolve robust solutions.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Develop with assistance from the Engineering team, Job Instruction & improvement training material including: - Standard Operating Procedures, - Risk Assessments - Autonomous Maintenance Procedures
Teach, train and coach the teams through core training module, Job Instruction & Improvement including: - Standard Operating Procedures, - Risk Assessments - Autonomous Maintenance Procedures
Teach, train and coach the teams through core training modules including: - Vision, - End to end process flow - Problem solving, - Customer centred quality - Safety -Work very closely with other Team Leaders from manufacturing and Construction Assembly teams to ensure a coordinated approach to leadership & continuous improvement
Play a key role in the logistics team role definition, recruitment and on-boarding of the new logistics team
Develop with assistance from the Engineering team, Job Instruction & improvement training material including: - Standard Operating Procedures, - Risk Assessments - Autonomous Maintenance Procedures
Work very closely with other Team Leaders from manufacturing and Construction Assembly teams to ensure a coordinated approach to leadership & continuous improvement
Attend daily production & logistics planning & schedule reviews
Track production results hourly, making appropriate adjustments in resource planning in order to the plan
Develop and execute cross training plans firstly inter cell then inter zone
Coordinate future project resource planning with the Manufacturing Engineering department
Attend the daily end of shift SQCDP production meeting
Implement improvement action plans in order to improve your zones performance in the key SQCDP KPI's
Initiate shift contingency plans, i.e overtime to ensure production targets are met
Drive continuous improvement projects with support & direction from engineering, quality and health & safety teams
Technical Competencies
Degree in engineering-3-5 years of production leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments
Experience creating and delivering training ideally train the trainer
Good understanding and practical knowledge of ERP and MES systems
Lean/ Six sigma experience
Experience within an offsite manufacture, automotive, aerospace or similar background.
