View the testimonials below to see what some of our past candidates have gained from the Berkeley Sales Academy.
I entered the business as part of the 3rd Berkeley Sales Academy in the summer of 2014. I came from a very different industry and background, having worked in the gambling industry in an area management capacity, for the last 7 years.
The Sales Academy provides an opportunity to get a level of training unrivalled in this industry. Exposure to all aspects of the business, sales technique workshops and a firm grounding in the company's structure, culture and vision has provided an extraordinary platform for me to launch a new career in a new industry. I have been fortunate to spend two years at a large development in Sussex called Highwood where Berkeley place-making is truly in action. I am delighted to now begin a 12 month management programme in July 2016 in readiness for my promotion to Project Sales Manager at a new development in Winchester when it is due to launch in early 2017.
I was fortunate enough to be part of the first sales academy in 2012 following my degree in Psychology. I had always been interested in property development and knew I wanted to be involved in a customer facing role. I was already aware of The Berkeley Group and their prestigious reputation growing up in London and seeing the changing London Skyline.
The sales academy training was imperative, teaching me not only valuable sales techniques but the process and planning that goes into building a development. Following the academy I was placed in Goodman's Fields, Berkeley Capital's city flagship development as a trainee sales consultant. 3 years later I am now a Development Sales Manager for Woodberry Down managing a team of 4 sales consultants, I look forward to my further growth within the company over the coming years.
Following my degree in Biochemistry, I started up my own mobile catering company selling Crepes at festivals and shows across the UK. After a year on the road I left the company in my parent's capable hands and decided I wanted a move to London and get a job in property development. I was on the 2nd Berkeley Sales Academy in September 2013.
Having never done sales before, the academy offered invaluable training, we learned about all aspects of the business and its influence on the London property market. The sales technique training taught me so much, dissecting every moment of the customer journey and how it can influence the crucial 'close'.
Since the academy I have been working for St Edward Homes based at 375 Kensington High Street selling multimillion pound apartments and penthouses. Within my first six months of being with St Edward, my sales director took me to our Dubai office to help with the launch of Benson House. It was incredible to see how much of a global presence the Berkeley Group has. Since then I have been offered a business development role in Berkeley Hong Kong and will be starting in September this year.
I was part of the inaugural Berkeley Sales Academy in 2013. Prior to joining the program I worked for an International Airline within different departments for over 10 years, from cabin services to promotion and marketing.
The greatest asset about the Berkeley Sales Academy is the unique opportunity it offers people from diverse backgrounds with exceptional customer service skills to gain the knowledge and training to take the next step in their career development. It also gives a unique insight into Berkeley and what it means to join a world class organisation.
Since graduating from the academy over three and a half years ago I have been offered incredible opportunities. I initially joined the Executive Marketing Suite as a Sales Consultant selling four Central London schemes and within my first year was promoted to Sales Manager. I have been in my current role as Head of Sales since mid-2014 and in this time have successfully delivered some of the most prestigious developments within the Berkeley Portfolio - including Ebury Square in Belgravia, The Houses at Wimbledon Hill Park, and Abell and Cleland in Westminster.
Joining the Berkeley Sales Academy has provided me with a solid foundation to build my skills upon. I believe I am an example that passion, enthusiasm and hard work is highly valued by Berkeley. I continue to learn new aspects of the company which still inspires me and excited about new projects in the horizon.
I joined the 4th Berkeley Sales Academy, 2015 as a graduate of Urban Planning. Throughout my studies I had been driven by the prospect of transforming our built environment into high quality places to live and work. On the weekends, I worked for Rolex in Harrods to support my studies. The experience of working for two prestige brands such as Rolex and Harrods, reinforced my desire to enter a world-class business that puts their clients first.
The sales academy offers a training scheme that is unique in the industry. The combination of intelligent sales workshops, training on the property market as well as the understanding of the business' vision, gave me the skills to kick start my career in the property market. Upon completion of my training, my role at Battersea Reach has given me the opportunity to fully immerse myself into all aspects of the business and encouraged me to innovate processes that have been successfully implemented across other developments and divisions. One of many great things about working for The Berkeley Group is that your hard work and dedication will get recognised. After my first year, I have been honoured with an award at the St George annual conference in the category: 'be passionate'. This experience has really given me a head start in my career with The Berkeley Group.
