Sales Success at Kingswood Chase

19th May 2009

A Benchmark Scheme in Chislehurst, Kent

Kingswood Chase in Chislehurst by St James Developments is bucking the current housing trend with six homes selling in seven weeks.

Two and three bedroom new apartments, a four bedroom townhouse and five and six bedroom detached houses were snapped up in April and May, in spite of reports stating the housing market had taken another downturn.

Kingswood Chase is an exclusive gated development of just 39 converted and newly built homes set within three acres of woodland. It is home to a range of properties, from two and three bedroom new and refurbished apartments, two bedroom cottages, four bedroom townhouses and three, four, five and six bedroom detached houses.

Chris Gilbert, Sales and Marketing Director for St James Developments, comments: "Kingswood Chase has proved to be very popular and homes have sold exceptionally well in recent weeks; the five bedroom house, for example, was sold within a few days of being released for sale. The variety of homes available and the superb location has meant Kingswood Chase is appealing to a wide range of buyers."

For those looking for a home steeped in history, Kingswood Manor, the development's centrepiece, is a former manor house set within extensive grounds which has been restored and converted into seven unique two bedroom apartments. The building has magnificent period features including a grand galleried oak staircase which climbs around the triple height atrium hall. Together with a large skylight which floods the entire reception area with light, this spectacular entrance gives the building a real 'wow' factor.

The individually designed apartments follow many of the original room partitions, resulting in generously proportioned rooms with high ceilings which exude luxury and creativity. The homes are a wonderful blend of splendid period features and intricate detailing, such as oak fires, deep bay windows and ceiling cornicing, combined with all the comforts for contemporary, luxury living.

The site was formerly the country estate of wealthy Victorian importer Emil Teichman. His impressive 1883 manor house was designed by the architect Ernest Newton, who went on to become president of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The new two and three bedroom apartments are situated in two distinctive buildings; Longacre Hall and Boxwood Court.

Many apartments have a sitting room which opens onto a balcony and a separate spacious kitchen/dining room whilst others are open-plan. All homes have a separate laundry room. Master bedrooms in most apartments have ensuite bathrooms and dressing rooms and several also open out onto balconies with countryside views. Generously proportioned rooms with high ceilings, deep windows and French doors that let the 'outside in', result in spacious, light-filled rooms that further enhance the sense of space.

Residents have access to a large communal garden and each apartment has two allocated underground parking spaces.

For those looking for a grand family home The Hawthorne and The Ashburn capture the essence of executive living. The houses combine dramatic proportions and state-of-the-art specification with character and charm resulting in exclusive and highly desirable homes.

With formal sitting rooms, family rooms, separate dining rooms and exceptionally large open-plan kitchens with breakfast and sitting areas, these five bedroom detached houses are ideal for entertaining. Floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors which open onto back gardens and terraces flood the rooms with light. The Ashburn and The Hawthorne also have 'bonus rooms' which provide the ideal getaway.

Designed to maximise views, main living areas either open onto the expansive gardens with woodland beyond or are located on the first floor and open onto terraces with stunning views of the countryside.

Homes also boast extensive gardens of manicured, rolling lawns, ideal for barbeques, parties or simply relaxing in the sun.

Set amongst three acres of woodland, Kingswood Chase is swiftly becoming one of the most highly sought after addresses in Chislehurst village. Located just minutes from the village high street, Kingswood Chase is a five-minute walk from the popular commuter stations of Elmstead Woods Station and a short drive from Chislehurst Station, both on the mainline into Central London. From Elmstead Woods, it is a 25 minute commute into Charing Cross. There are also convenient road links with the A222, A20, M20 and M25.

Eight, two bedroom apartments remain for sale in Longacre Hall and three, two bedroom apartments remain for sale in Kingswood Manor. Only two five bedroom detached houses remain for sale: The Ashburn and The Hawthorne.
