The piazza is the centre-piece of the development and is designed to be enjoyed by residents all year round. Every little detail has been thought of with unique artist designed benches, bus stops and even bins. All replicate the shape of a wave to symbolize life on the Island.

For your convenience, a coffee shop, unisex hair salon, a dentist and a convenience store are open now - what better way to meet your neighbours?

The Kennet Island Car Club is an innovative car sharing scheme with immediate financial and environmental benefits,  reducing C02 emissions and congestion.The cars can be hired on a short term rental basis, subject to availability, from only £4 for an hour plus a small mileage fee. Simple to access for Kennet Island residents, cars are booked over the Internet and located at the piazza with high tech smart cards.

There is also an on-site dedicated bus service. The number 40 route runs from Drakes Way in Kennet Island to the town centre via the Madejski Stadium. The service takes less than 15 minutes and runs every half hour. Click here to download the Kennet Island bus timetable PDF.

The Hilton Hotel is an exciting addition to the entrance of Kennet Island. It has 210 bedrooms, conference and leisure facilities, a bar and restaurant.

Future plans for Kennet Island include a private hospital, a Southern piazza and the development of the Foudry Brook and Wildlife Area.
