The St Edward Brand (Now Part of the Berkeley Brand)

St Edward was a joint venture company owned by M&G Investments (Prudential/M&G Real Estate) and Berkeley that operated from 2006 to 2026. The aim of the venture was to create residential-led developments. 

It combined Berkeley’s development expertise with M&G’s investment capabilities to deliver large-scale neighbourhoods. This created a powerful vehicle for delivering exceptional communities where people enjoy a high quality of life. 

In 2026, to mark 50 years of Berkeley Group in the property development market, we unified all joint ventures and sub-brands together under the Berkeley umbrella, building on one unified brand with an established reputation for quality and placemaking. At this time, we folded the St Edward brand into the main Berkeley brand.

Over two decades, St Edward delivered several landmark developments across London and the South of England, including: 

• Stanmore Place – A community of nearly 800 homes in the London Borough of Harrow 
  
  
• 190 Strand – 216 apartments located on the Strand, opposite the Grade II-listed St Clement Danes Church 
  
  
• Warwick Road Masterplan – Comprising 375 Kensington High Street, Kensington Row, and Royal Warwick Square 
  
  
• Green Park Village & Bankside Gardens, Reading – A collection of New England–style homes and contemporary apartments 
  
  
• Hartland Village – A traditional English village of 1,500 homes near Fleet, Hampshire 
  
  
• 9 Millbank – A landmark residential address on the River Thames 
  
  
• Highcroft, Wallingford – A traditionally designed collection of houses, apartments and bungalows 

These developments now form part of Berkeley. 

St Edward specialised in the following:

• Large, complex brownfield regeneration projects, often beyond the scope of conventional developers
• Placemaking and community-focused development, shaped through collaboration with local councils and residents
• High-quality, design-led homes backed by Berkeley Group’s build standards

Their approach centred on:
