St George, the developer behind the Camberwell Grove development in SE5, has donated £1000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in recognition of the work they are doing towards combating one of the UK's most common diseases.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a national charity which funds medical research into this inherited disease, its symptoms and treatments. Since the foundation of the charity in 1964, it has provided key information and support for sufferers and their families.
Mark Griffiths, Managing Director of St George South Division commented: "We are pleased to contribute to this worthwhile cause. The fundraising and ongoing research campaign that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust delivers is of paramount importance and St George remains committed to giving back to the local community."
The regional fundraising manager for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust also commented: "We are delighted to receive this donation from St George which will help us fund research, support and care for those living with Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening inherited condition affecting over 8,500 people in the UK. We would like to say a huge thank you to all employees who were involved in raising this fantastic amount for us."
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) affects many areas of the body including the lungs, liver and pancreas. The foundation is currently the largest funder of Cystic Fibrosis research in the UK, who's work will have an important and/or imminent clinical benefit for those with Cystic Fibrosis.
The St George development, Camberwell Grove is situated in one of the capital's most attractive conservation areas, offering the sensitive restoration of two existing school buildings in addition to a number of stunning new Georgian style two, three and four bedroom townhouses facing on to and maintaining the integrity of the local area.
