Regeneration

A key factor in the master planning of one of the UK's largest regeneration projects has been the creating of a sustainable site through increased and improved public open spaces, and improved community facilities

Woodberry Park is much more than new housing. Whilst the Masterplan takes advantage of the unique location (Manor House underground, New River, adjacent reservoirs and Finsbury Park) - the programme of physical change is also fundamentally geared to addressing socio-economic outcomes. Place-making has been taken forward in a way that combines social, economic and environmental sustainability considerations in pursuit of the 'total living environment' agreed with local residents.

Close working with the Learning Trust, the City & Hackney Primary Care Trust, the Greater London Authority (including London Development Agency and Transport for London) and others has meant that a broad range of new community facilities will be delivered early to support the needs of existing and new incoming residents, including:-

· A lifelong learning campus

· A new 2,000m2 Health Centre

· A new Youth Centre

· A new Community Centre

· A range of new shops

· A variety of environmental measures to create a low carbon community

· A range of open space and play facilities, including a Wildlife Centre and a landscaped riverside walkway

 · New transport facilities
