Firepower

Royal Artillery Museum

Located on No.1 Street, Firepower was opened to the public in May 2001 and now attracts over 300,000 visitors per year. Artillery has been vital in every war the British Army has fought, and The Royal Regiment of Artillery, which is responsible for those guns, is one of the largest branches in the Army.

For over 250 years, Royal Arsenal was one of the World's most important centres for manufacturing weapons and ammunition. Many of the guns and carriages on display in Firepower were made there.

Firepower offers an exciting and safe learning experience, which is tailored to meet the needs of many different groups, such as military historians, adult learning and further education.

The Museum Café & Bistro is open from 9.30am 7 days a week and is open until 10.00pm on Wednesday to Sunday with a three course menu . On Monday and Tuesday the Café is open until 5.00pm. Whether you are enjoying a meal in the tabled area or melting into the leather sofas with a coffee and newspaper, you will find a relaxing atmosphere waiting for you in the listed building setting. A dedicated outdoor seating area is available to soak up the atmosphere of the historic Royal Arsenal Riverside.
