Crystal Palace Park

Once the home of the world famous Crystal Palace, destroyed by fire in 1936, this is one of South London's biggest parks and is home to a concert bowl which often features performances from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Open from 7.30am to half an hour after dusk and admission is free.

Horniman Museum and Gardens

Located in Forest Hill, this famous museum of collections and artefacts from around the world was founded in 1901 by Victorian tea trader Frederick John Horniman. The museum and surrounding gardens are one of South London's most prized cultural gems.

Recently refurbished with a new extension, the Horniman has a stunning collection of unusual musical instruments amongst its exhibits and even an aquarium in the basement.

The museum is housed within a lovely park comprising 16 acres of gardens that offer wonderful views towards central London.

Open daily 10.30am – 5.30pm and admission is free.

The London Eye

The biggest Ferris Wheel in Europe, The London Eye soars above the south bank of the River Thames to take in views of the Capital and many of its landmarks.

Originally intended to be in place for just five years, the Eye is now a permanent attraction and an iconic addition to London's famous skyline.
