Considerate Constructors Scheme
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is the national initiative, set up by the construction industry, to improve its image. The Scheme is concerned about any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole. The main areas of concern fall into three main categories: the environment, the workforce and the general public.
Berkeley First have registered with the Scheme and are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. In 2011 Berkeley First were proud winners of a highly prestigious Gold award by the Scheme and also received Most Considerate Site Runners up Award, putting the developer in the top 0.25% for all companies.
The effective management of Health and Safety remains fundamental and an integral part of Berkeley First's business. Berkeley First is committed to developing a culture through training and communication whereby the avoidance of accidents, the promotion of safe and healthy workplaces and the protection of the environment are common objectives shared with our customers, clients, contractors, suppliers and the communities in which we operate.
